Couldn’t wait to try out the all new browser Chromefrom Google after Ankit introduced it to me yesterday . From the first couple of hours of use, it looks simple, elegant, intuitive and feels lightweight! I just hope there’s a release for Linux soon, so that Ankit can use it as well :-)

I think I am going to continue using this…..

@Deepesh: Nothing substantial you missed. The browser is indeed good. Let’s see how it does.

Update: For the first time, Chrome hung today. And from then it has become more of a routine than exception. The sandbox funda doesn’t seem to work. When a tab hangs, everything else screws up too, not this is not limited to the window, rather it paralyzes all instances of Chrome running. Google, if you are listening, we need a patch soon!!

For Ankit, the open source version of Google Chrome called Cromium is available for both MAC and Linux users. Try it out and let me know how it works.

@chi I’ve heard of Crossover Chromium, but haven’t given it a try. For one, it’s bound to be very unstable (as it’s not an official release), and runs via Wine.

Plus, even if they release a native port soon, I won’t use it unless the announced ‘addons’ functionality is there: can’t surf without Adblock!
