I have Vostro 1500.

It has gone to Hibernate mode on its own. It is not coming back to wake up mode even after many restarts and hitting power button. It is repeatedly going into hibernate mode. Can any bidy tell what is the problem

I recently discovered that if I hibernate my machine (on Ubuntu of course) for two times in a row, it goes for a toss and is not able to recover from the shock! Anyway the effort continues………….

I got the same couple of months back and you are bang on about the matt finish part. Another thing that I liked about it is the complete black look. It looks as professional as you would want it to, given that, it claims itself to be a small and medium business machine. I guess, I will try ubuntu too, got the CDs shipped a quarter back. And will be watching your posts for tips

No games yet…usually don’t play a lot of games…and these games can push the limits of any hardware I guess..so I’d better not test them and just be happy that the machine is fast enough

The Forensic Sciences observation was a nice one … so did you play any games yet, like Quake4 ? anyways, should be good when there is a dedicated NVidia graphics card
